3 spooky Halloween crafts for your playhouse

During Halloween, every child's dream will come true. They can have lots of candy, put on spooky costumes, and play endlessly with their friends. Who wouldn't want that? Spider

Make sure everyone gets the creeps when they enter your playhouse; make your own spider! It's very easy and makes an extra creepy playhouse. This is what you need to make 1 spider:

An egg carton
A pair of scissors
Black paint
3 pieces of chenille wire
2 wobbly eyes
Optional: a string to hang the spider

Here’s how to make the spider:

Cut an egg cup out of the egg carton.
Paint the outside of the egg cup black.
Cut 4 nicks on each side of the egg cup (making a total of 8 nicks).
Cut the chenille wires into 3 equal pieces.
Push a chenille wire into each nick so that most of the chenille wire sticks out and bend the chenille wires the way you want the spider legs to look.
Stick the wobbly eyes on the spider and voilà! A beautiful spider for your playhouse.
Do you want to hang the spider? Prick a hole in the egg cup with the scissors and thread the string through. On the inside of the eggcup, tie a knot in the string so the spider can hang.

Mummy lighting

Did you know that lighting in your playhouse can be cozy AND creepy? With the mummy lighting, you can create a beautifully lit playhouse! Here's what you need:

A glass jar
Elastic gauze bandage
Optional: glue to glue the gauze bandage in place
Wobbly eyes
A LED tea light

Here’s how to make the mummy lighting:

Stick the wobbly eyes on the glass jar.
Wrap the elastic gauze bandage around the glass jar so that the jar is completely covered. Tie the gauze bandage so it stays put or stick it with glue.
Put the LED tea light in the glass jar and the mummy is finished!

Ghost flags

Let the ghosts soar through your playhouse with your self-made ghost flags. You will need:

White paper
A pen or pencil
A pair of scissors
Glue or tape
A flag line in your favorite color
Optional: wobbly eyes

Here’s how to make the ghost flags:

Put your hand (or your friend’s, brother’s, or sister’s) on the white paper and trace it over with pen or pencil.
Cut out the outline of the hand.
Stick the hand outline on a flag with glue or tape.
What kind of eyes does your ghost have? Glue on wobbly eyes or draw them yourself.
Repeat these steps for as many flags as you want. This is how you get a spooky-tacular playhouse!
